Inclusive Leadership

Program Description

This program provides managers worldwide with awareness, knowledge, and skill readiness to enable individuals and groups to contribute to their fullest potential by leveraging their unique experiences, perspectives and viewpoints for the collective benefit of all stakeholders. Through case studies, exercises, discussions, video scenarios and personal feedback, managers explore critical issues related to specific workforce diversity concerns both from a global and local perspective.

Your organization's priorities, expectation, and policies concerning diversity and inclusion are explained and applied to specific cases and examples. Through targeted skill building exercises, participants practice key skills to enhance inclusiveness and performance personally and in their sphere of influence. More than raising awareness, this learning solution provides managers with specific skills to (1) address diversity related concerns consistent with the organization's philosophy and policy, and (2) foster an inclusive climate that improves organizational performance, such as speed, efficiency, creativity, innovation, motivation, and corporate image.

Leading & Managing Across Cultures

Program Description

This 2 day workshop is highly interactive and provides managers and collaborative contributors with the knowledge, approach, and aptitude for more effective multicultural collaboration amongst teams both domestic and internationally. In this setting, teamwork, accurate communication, and efficiency are critical.

Cultural differences can contribute to decreased productivity and cause misunderstandings and conflicts. Successful team leadership in one cultural context may appear ineffectual in another because of culturally-based assumptions and expectations. Roles and responsibilities of team members vary based on corporate culture, and local culture's preferences and orientations.

Participants gain practical insights on how culture impacts the team process, acquire effective multicultural leadership and management skills, use tools for modeling flexible and resilient communication processes, and explore best practices for participating in a global environment..

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore the Ten Dimensions of Culture and cultural differences and their effect on management interactions
  • Understand the foundations of developing cultural competence and the key cultural skills to apply skills to common management situations and challenges

Valuing Diversity & Practicing Inclusion

Program Description

This program is specifically designed for employees and managers who need to understand the effect and challenges of marketplace and workforce diversity on the organization, its teams, and ultimately their individual role and responsibility. This workshop explores the various diversity challenges that are affecting the business and links them to the organization's existing Diversity & Inclusion initiative.

Participants explore the positive and potentially negative impact of diversity on their workplace, explore specific changes in mindset and behaviors required to leverage specific differences, and identify barriers to true inclusion. Common diversity issues and scenarios are explored and participants identify specific mindsets, behaviors and skills to bring about an inclusive climate.

Specifically, participants explore the insider/outsider dynamics that accompany most diversity challenges, and obtain tools and skills to (a) manage diversity related conflict, and (b) implement inclusive work and management behaviors.

Communicating & Collaborating Effectively Across Cultures

Program Description

This program is a highly interactive 1 day workshop that targets the challenges posed by working inside rapidly globalizing organizations. It is designed for managers and collaborative contributors who work together on globalized, matrixed teams in a virtual environment. In this setting, teamwork, accurate communication and efficiency are critical. Cultural differences can contribute to decreased productivity and cause misunderstandings and conflicts.

Goals:

  • Understand how an open attitude, self-awareness, and cultural knowledge can enhance effectiveness in global team building and collaboration.
  • Learn how to use your Cultural Orientations Indicator® (COI) profile in practicing the four key cultural skills.
  • Practice and plan for applying cultural insights and skills in efforts to build and manage effective, collaborative global teams

Program Description

This program provides global team leaders with the necessary knowledge, mindsets, and skills for more effective multicultural teamwork. Learning Objectives:

  • Successfully lead and/or participate as an effective member of global teams
  • Examine the team's cross-cultural profiles and identify specific cross-cultural communication barriers that inhibit effective teamwork
  • Understand the principles of team development and be able to transfer them to a virtual multicultural environment
  • Based on the targeted regions selected by the client, diagnose multicultural team issues, and develop strategies for resolving these issues
  • Acquire effective team practices such as multicultural and meeting management skills for both face-to-face and virtual meetings

Repatriation Program

Program Description

The program focuses on individual and family adjustment concerns as well as on the returning employee's business requirements for professional success. Returning home is a one-day experiential program, encouraging hands-on learning through the use of discussions, critical incidents, self-assessment tools, and the creation of action plans.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of the process of readjustment to life and work upon returning home and develop an action plan for success.
  • Articulate newly gained skills during the international assignment.
  • Strategize methods to incorporate international skills gained while abroad.
  • Provide a "cultural roadmap" for readapting to life and work in the home country.
  • Create strategies for overcoming reverse culture adjustment to both social and business issues.

Global Orientations

Program Description

Global Orientations programs span levels 3-5 of the Berlitz GLT solution model; through this program, participants develop country-specific knowledge and insight, an appreciation of different ethics and values systems, and their own personal business network. Global Orientations are leadership immersion programs focused on acquiring business acumen for specific business regions. Currently we will have programs in 3 locations: China; Brazil and Germany. Further locations will be added in the near future.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain practical insights into specific markets and leadership challenges
  • Grow specific global leadership skills and cultural skills
  • Design and execute competitive strategies
  • Participants discover specific keys to success and delivering results under challenging circumstances in a variety of different markets.
  • Depending on their individual objectives, they can participate in one or several Global Orientations programs for a customized, relevant, and cumulative development experience.
